First Month of Dark Tower Tales

So here they are my first months miniatures. Overall I am pretty pleased with how they turned out. I think I am somewhere around the 300 mark in points. I am heading out of town for 10 days, so unfortunately I wasn't able to finish the cannon. On the bright side, 5 marines of a tactical squad were completed. So far the Dark Tower community and this blog have been great for my motivation. I hope to come back in just shy of two weeks and get that cannon finished.

Thunderfire Techmarine

Here is the Thunderfire Techmarine gunner in the early stages. I treated him the same way as a normal space marine. Black Primer and a Regal Blue airbrush. I have piqued out some details in boltgun metal with a badab black wash. The red I used was Mecharite Red, a foundation paint. Scroll work is Bleached Bone.

Here he is almost finished. I need to detail him a little more, adding highlights, shoulder decal and basing. Techmarine's are a ton of work, but they are an impressive model. I have a growing dependancy on Badab Black. It gives a nice smudgy oily look to metallic pieces. A suitable look for any self respecting Tech.

Dark Tower Week 2

Partially assembled Drop Pod. I am not gonna lie, building three of these is kind of intimidating.

Semi complete scout squad they definitely need some work on their faces.

Prepped Dread ready to go. Simple Regal Blue airbrush, hope to have him finished this week.

Tale of Dark Tower Gamers

This is where I start basic assembly and primer. Simple stuff really, I leave the arms and weapons off to get at details on the chest and belt.

After primer, I airbrush Regal Blue and give a wash of Badab Black.

These guys are about as done as they are gonna get. They have been detailed in a mix of Frostwolf Grey and Regal blue and sealed with Dull Cote. I will have some pictures forthcoming of them with bases complete.
